The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues in a timely manner, which at times may require travel for on-site support. You will assist with on-site installations, repairs, testing and commissioning whilst building ongoing relationships with customers. It is expected that you will be a team player who can work collaboratively within an SLA team, or autonomously as required. The Technical Support Engineer reports to Senior Director of Customer Success and will be considered to execute at an Individual Contributor level. The Technical Support Engineer’s success will be measured through Average Resolution time, Overall customer satisfaction, and first response time.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with regional and global customer support teams and other engineers to achieve optimal outcomes for Veloce and its customers.
- Execute all field service activities (e.g., install, test, commission, diagnose, repair, support, etc.) on Veloce systems according to Veloce Policies and Procedures, and/or coordinate external teams on the execution of those activities.
- Liaise with all clients/suppliers in a professional and courteous manner with a view to improving Veloce’s reputation within the industry and increase business opportunities.
- Work with subcontractors on site and remotely, by guiding and monitoring them throughout their interventions on Veloce products, representing Veloce in alignment with our company values. For time to time, you will be required to audit their services and reports to secure the upmost quality and accuracy of their services and reports.
- Comply with all necessary safety procedures, as reflected in Veloce Policies and Procedures
- Work within ISO9001 equivalent quality Standards, and any other local regulation or company regulation
- Escalate as appropriate situations where customer satisfaction is compromised and to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain good communications and team, working with all Stakeholders.
- Understand and comply with Veloce work instructions, quality policy and codes of conduct policies and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Complete personal administration in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain all test equipment, tools and company property in good and working order
- Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company processes.
- Generate and submit timely high-quality reports and other technical documentation outputs from your work, on the field and outside the field, using the defined systems. In addition to specified reports, it is expected you provide product improvements where you see fit and feed-back customer input.
- Be hands on and work in accordance with the defined SOPs.
- Work in accordance to the schedule provided to you in a weekly base
- Travel to the Veloce sites as required.
- Performed integration, validation and verification testing, by collaborating with internal teams and vendors to integrate, debug, fix and improve products, documenting development phases and monitor systems.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field experience
- Surface Mount Technology experience in manufacturing. Understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and electromagnetic compatibility issues.
- Experience with Linux environments
- Understanding of Modbus protocol, programming, integration and debugging as value added.
- Ideally have experience working with LV mains to 480VAC and DC systems up to 1000V
- Travel up to 35%
