Responsibilities
We are seeking a Technical Task Order Lead/Project Manager to manage a project for our premier customer – NASA Exploration and Space Communications (ESC) Division, in Greenbelt, MD. This position will allow for 100% telework, with travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations, as needed.
As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA’s worldwide satellite communication networks. Join the SENSE team to support NASA programs that integrate with state-of-the-art RF satellite ground communications systems and technologies. In this position, you will become part of NASA’s return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that builds and ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.
This position will provide Task Order leadership duties for the NASA Lunar Exploration Ground Sites (LEGS) in support of NASA Artemis missions. In this role, you will be responsible to direct and ensure execution of all aspects of the projects/programs and be responsible for the overall performance from a financial, technical, schedule, contractual, and customer satisfaction perspective. You will ensure master plans and schedules are followed, develop solutions and apply critical thinking to program challenges, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to seek opportunities to maximize customer satisfaction.
Your specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Achieve or exceed financial, delivery, and contractual performance targets for assigned projects/programs under guidance of Group Lead.
- Develop, manage and execute the detailed schedule for all assigned programs.
- Direct work execution in accordance with requirements.
- Manage team and team activities in accordance with the mission of project/program.
- Create and manage team long term goals.
- Identify and analyze program risks.
- Lead weekly/monthly internal program reviews to track performance against targets and metrics.
- Conduct monthly/periodic on-site customer program reviews to ensure compliance, satisfaction and seek new areas to add value.
- Meet with customer and other stakeholders to keep open and transparent communication of program issues and decisions.
- Collaborate with other program teams to ensure products and services effectively meet the requirements and expectations of the customer programs and contracts.
- Coordinate and collaborate with international partners in coordination with NASA.
- Ensure that all programs are supported with appropriate processes and documentation across all functional areas (Finance, Contracts, Subcontracts, Human Resources, Mission Assurance, etc.) in the organization.
- Occasional travel to NASA sites for project-related activities may be required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Math, or other applicable technical discipline and 12+ years of experience or a Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience
- Experience managing US Government projects with respect to cost, schedule, performance and risk
- Experience interfacing with Government and/or Prime customers to provide status of projects
- Experience interfacing with international organizations
- Provided development, integration, and testing of space communication systems in areas such as development engineering, sustaining engineering, operations, and maintenance
- Previously worked with a supply chain team to execute project procurements, to include statements of work, evaluation quotes and developed technical justifications for selected vendors
- Experience leading a team of multiple direct reports, subcontractors, or other team members to complete project requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with a Program Management team to develop cost estimates, schedules, and technical responses to task order requests
- Experience using Microsoft tools such as Project, Excel and Word.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, which requires US citizenship.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace) or Computer Science.
- Previous experience managing and supporting all aspects of government or commercial facilities-related construction, upgrade or renovation projects.
- Previous experience supporting NASA space and/or ground communication systems
- PMI certified as a PMP
- Experience using Deltek tools such as PM Compass and Open Plan.
- Experience with selection and hiring of candidates for technical and management positions within a department and conducting performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff
- Ability to succeed in the fast-paced and changing environments of development and program execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An active Secret clearance

Target Salary Range
$135,000 – $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
