A Technical Trainer is needed in our Lehighton Technical Training Center to provide an additional dedicated training resource to our Field Service Representatives. Although there is a work-from-home component to this position, candidates must reside in Pennsylvania.

Duties Include:

  • Conducting HFC and FTTx training in the classroom and on-site
  • Conducting written and hands on employee evaluations
  • Keeping and reporting data on completed courses and trainings
  • Assisting in determining training needs
  • Assisting with development of training programs, schedules and documentation
  • Assisting with conducting new hire trainings
  • Assisting with product evaluations and testing
  • Assisting with Acceptance Testing of field applications such as Oracle Field Service and Viavi Statasync
  • Managing time-sensitive product training and updates
  • Traveling to each Blue Ridge local office location on a consistent basis to ensure confidence in technicians skills, support additional training needs at the local level, receive feedback on training needs and ensure follow up is tracked and provided

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical or Telecommunications; or 3+ Years Experience in the Telecommunications Industry as a Field Technician or providing Technical Training
  • Valid PA Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Residency in Pennsylvania
  • Knowledge of HFC and FTTx network design, construction and operation
  • Knowledge of customer premise coaxial and networking cabling
  • Knowledge of Test Equipment used for HFC, FTTx and wireless installation and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Fiber splicing practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of wireless networking protocols and transmission
  • Knowledge of Home Security installation and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of Blue Ridge’s TV, Internet and Phone product offerings, Eero and Home Security – especially relating to equipment connectivity and functionality; and willingness to continue learning all aspects of our service offerings and delivery methods, and relevant troubleshooting related skills from vendors and our Technical Departments
  • Commendable proficiency using monitoring and troubleshooting tools; iGlass, Eero Portals, OFS and Technician Meters
  • Solid history of delivering quality, relevant, hands-on training and receiving excellent participant feedback
  • Excellent Communication Skills to large groups – Oral and Written
  • Excellent Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent Project Management Skills
  • Excellent Organizational and Time Management Skills
  • Excellent Data Entry / Computer Skills – Microsoft Office, Adobe and Basecamp
  • Ability to produce efficient and effective documentation and presentations
  • Ability to work both as a team and excel individually, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of all current and future technologies and deployments
  • Ability to adapt to change, create solutions and implement changes while portraying a cooperative, professional and positive attitude
