Primary Responsibilitie

HDR is seeking an Engineering Tech 1 to work under the supervision of the Instrumentation Engineer. This position will be responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of electronic and mechanical equipment used for monitoring and controlling water treatment processes, with a particular focus on instrumentation and controls, as well as providing support for the SCADA and DCS departments.

In the role of Technician General 2, we’ll count on you to:

  • Assist with the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment including flow meters, pressure sensors, level sensors, and temperature probes
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with instrumentation equipment and work with the Instrumentation Engineer to develop and implement solutions
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on instrumentation equipment to ensure reliable operation
  • Assist with the design and implementation of new instrumentation systems to improve process control and efficiency
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for regulatory compliance and process control purposes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed
  • Provide controls equipment maintenance and support, including troubleshooting and resolving operational technology (OT) hardware and software issues, and maintaining inventory of controls equipment
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and operation of control systems
  • Provide general support to the Instrumentation Engineer as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic electronics and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and controls equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualification

  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology or a related field is preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the water treatment industry

The expected compensation range for this position is $56,963.00 – $81,375.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
