A Senior IT Systems Administrator opportunity is currently available through Belcan in the industrial industry. This position will report to the Orange City Corporate Support Center and will be responsible for the architecture and administration of Servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), and LAN/WAN/Wireless infrastructure. The Senior Systems Administrator plans, installs, monitors, and supports all LAN/WAN/Wireless components, VMWare hosts and servers and the Storage Area Network (SAN) for all departments and locations across the organization. The Sr. Systems Administrator ensures system availability for all users with minimal downtime and resolves network, server, and SAN issues. This role works with the network administrator team to provide oversight for upgrades, replacements, and ongoing maintenance on equipment while ensuring compliance/security requirements are being met. This position’s work requires considerable initiative, independent judgment, and collaborative teamwork. Participate in technical research and development to enable continued innovation within the infrastructure. Manage the complete lifecycle of servers (virtual guest, physical, and cloud); including but not limited to initial setup, patching, applications upgrades, and retirement, replacement, or upgrade planning. Manage and maintain documentation pertaining to the configuration of servers, SAN, and network. Participate in root cause analysis and preventative and corrective action planning related to IT issues.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, configure, maintain, and deploy network infrastructure, SAN, and Servers
* Monitor and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Network Admin team
* Be a technical reference for the Network Admin team and IT Managers
* Provide level 3 support for Network Admins and Help Desk
* Provide after hours and/or on-call support as needed
* Plan, manage, and lead network, server and SAN installations and upgrades
* Monitor hardware/software activities and resource utilization for capacity planning purposes
* Investigate user incidents, performs diagnostics, analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves network and system problems across departments and locations
* Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during system outages or periods of reduced performance
* Analyze the root cause of system issues and recommend steps for avoiding future unplanned outages
* Provide detailed updates when creating, responding to, and resolving tickets through the Client ticketing system
* Develop processes and procedures for network, server, and SAN environment
* Supports Mitel voice systems, Active Directory, and Office / Microsoft 365 accounts and licenses
* Installs, configures, upgrades, patches, and maintains approved server hardware and software components, including server Operating Systems
* Configures and maintains firewalls and firewall configurations, backup management software and systems, and replication to DR site; Assist IT Security with email SPAM and scanning protection
* Provide technology input, direction, and recommendations on various IT related projects to the IT Management Team
* Collaborate across departments as a team member on special projects
* Interface with all levels of management while seeking agreement on technology projects, direction, and solutions
* Project Management Skills are required to lead projects with a focus on alignment, communication, and building a consensus on project details while ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of relevant experience in IT focused on Network, Server and SAN competencies
