What will you be doing in your role?

  • You will provide initial case management services, including overseeing all initial logistics pertaining to the client’s arrival.
  • You will secure and set up appropriate housing for refugees prior to arrival.
  • You will prepare and maintain detailed case records, required forms, and reports.
  • You do airport pickups or arrange Airport pickup by US ties.
  • You assist clients in applying for public benefits, making public health appointments, Social Security cards, immunizations, and school enrollment, as necessary.
  • You will assist in referring for Employment, English classes, Refugee Cash Assistance, Refugee Match Grant programs, or other programs, as necessary.
  • You interview clients through comprehensive intake and assessments.
  • You assess to determine the barriers to employment and to discover clients’ job skills, as well as other case management needs such as personal and family adjustment, finances, food, clothing, housing, and health.
  • You develop, implement, monitor, evaluate, and update individualized service plans according to the guidelines set by the program and review progress toward goals with the client.
  • You complete/audit all necessary case documentation to ensure compliance with funding and agency requirements.
  • You advocate for clients at service providers or agencies and in the community.
  • You cultivate positive relationships with monitoring entities, faith-based organizations, social service providers, and other community partners. You participate in appropriate community collaborations.
  • You are available for after-hour airport pickups as needed.
  • You ensure that the funds’ spreadsheet is updated.
  • You work as MRIS (funder database system) administrator.

Are you the next R&P Case Manager- Texas Office of Refugees?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in job development and business networking with a working knowledge of for-profit corporate cultures preferred.
  • Familiarity with the refugee population and their needs.
  • Bilingual skills in a common client language preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current Texas driver’s license, and evidence of auto liability insurance.
  • Must be willing to drive a personal vehicle for job purposes.
  • Must have experience in Microsoft office.
