Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a software tester who will be responsible for the integration, testing, and lifecycle support activities on a product development team building and deploying a proprietary hardware/software solution. Responsibilities include end-to-end and live-dev testing, installation, maintenance, and sustainment activities. The tester will also work directly with the customer leads to manage, monitor and troubleshoot a globally distributed set of operational systems. This position is located in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with eight (8) years’ experience as a test engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope.
- Experience with system integration; end-to-end testing; installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fielded systems
- Experience developing, executing and refining test plans and operational support procedure
- Knowledge of Linux system administration and network configuration skills (NFS, DNS, firewall, systems, and user accounts management)
- Desire to support a fast-paced product development and operational support environment
- Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- XML, JSON, Redis, CORBA
- Scripting languages such as bash, Python, Ruby
- Web services in a Linux environment
- Working understanding of the OSI Model and IP/TCP protocols
- Performance, load, and stress testing
- Metrics generation and visualization tools (e.g, Grafana, MAASIMPACT)
- Health and status monitoring and operational troubleshooting
- VMWare, Kubernetes, MySQL, MariaDB
- Familiarity with various testing frameworks: functional, interface, security, and threads testing.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 – $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
