Test Engineering Technician

Compensation: $27.00 – $31.00 / hour
Description
The Electrical Engineer Technician is responsible for the development of new products and the Sustaining Engineering of existing products. This position participates with the production team & activities related to new product development & updating existing products. The Electrical Engineer Tech has hands on work manufacturing test equipment for manual and automatic production equipment, including but not limited to soldering and wire bonding parts together, as well as programming them.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical design, schematics/wiring diagrams, bills of materials, printed circuit board gerber plots & assembly drawings as needed.
- Construct Electrical Testing procedures.
- Develop Modification Procedures.
- Program PLCs for both products & test circuits.
- Assist in R&D, prototype design & development, testing, and documentation.
- Develop manufacturing and testing procedures for electronic and mechanical prototypes and designs.
- Coordinate projects with outside electrical & fabrication design firms.
- Obtain quotes from vendors & contract manufacturers.
- Create documentation for vendors and production, including Installation Guides & User Manuals.
- Assist in ensuring quality for new products and assemblies.
- Provide support to Sales Representatives, Customers, & Field Service Techs with both electrical application & installation questions.
- Conduct on-site customer installations & support as needed.
- Initiate & carry out Engineering Changes.
- Solder together assemblies and create drawings for equipment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Basic experience programming
- Experience in producing both electrical & printed circuit board design.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Minimum 2-year technical degree with a specialty in electrical.
- Strength in both mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Organized and self-motivated. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Solder and assembly of components and systems

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting hourly pay for this role is targeted to be between $27.00 to $31.00.
