This position is located in Santa Cruz, CA as part of the Outpatient Department of San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital.
At Connections Santa Cruz, we provide outpatient treatment services for adults age 18+ who are experiencing mental health challenges and possible co-occurring disorders.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) commonly serve patients who experience depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Our professional care team collaborates with each adult to form a personalized plan that addresses their unique challenges and goals for treatment. A personalized treatment plan may incorporate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Seeking Safety and Motivational Interviewing.
As an IOP/PHP Therapist you will:
- Facilitate daily groups (seeking safety, psycho education, CBT, DBT…)
- Weekly 1:1 therapy using an evidence-based treatment (CBT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, EMDR…)
- Provide family therapy as needed
- Be responsible for assessments, safety planning, weekly treatment goals, discharge/ after care planning
- Maintain documentation of group and individual therapy services provided to each patient according to program standards
- Maintain a caseload of 10 patients
- Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other staff to facilitate services for the patients
- Conduct crisis intervention with the support of the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards patients
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Human Services field required.
- One or more years’ experience working with comparable population required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) registered with CA BBS or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Associate Social Worker (ASW) registered with CA BBS or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Compensation
Compensation for roles at San Jose Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, San Jose Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below:
SJBH Range – $33.00/hour – $50.00/hour – DOE
