Ticket Sales Representative| Tsongas Center

Overview

Under the leadership of the Director of Ticketing, Marketing and Sales, the Ticket Sales Representative is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue for UML Hockey, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball. The Ticket Sales Representative will be tasked with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaigns including but not limited to full seasons, partial seasons, theme nights and group outings. In addition, this position will sell group tickets and premium inventory for Tsongas Center events including family show and concerts.

This role will pay a salary of $19.23 to $20.43.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for producing the maximum revenue for UMass Lowell Basketball and Hockey through the sale of ticket packages (seasons, partial, groups, etc)
  • Responsible for communicating to clients and prospects through various means including direct contact, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
  • Assist with closing business, sales calls and appointments.
  • Meet with event clients prior to events in determining event needs, oversee related staff and provide information and direction to in-house departments and support staff.
  • Knowledgeable in all UMass Lowell Hockey and Basketball product lines including season plans, partial plans, and premium seating group packages.
  • Manages all database information listings acquired through various entities through CRM database.
  • Responsible for handling customer challenges and/or concerns as they relate to sales made by the department.
  • Assists with requests for additional support staffing for outside events and games.
  • Personally Selling.
  • Assist Director of Ticketing, Marketing, & Sales plan to increase Ticket Revenue.
  • Prepare sales material and collateral.
  • Research and implement “best practices” of sales events by networking with other sports teams.
  • Manage Box Office as requested.

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operate standard office equipment including printer, copier, computer, and fax machine.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of mobile or land-line phones and email services.
  • Written/Oral communications – ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, get messages across which have the desired effect.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal Travel (<10% of work time) may be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
  • Frequent bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
  • The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-even times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or Business-Related field required
  • Familiarity with Customer Database Management Software, Salesforce preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year sales, promotional, or fundraising experience with a collegiate and/or professional sports team including some supervisory experience
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, is required
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment yet capable of completing tasks independently

  • Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel, and database management software
  • Ticketing software knowledge a plus (preferably Paciolan)
