Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Resident Engineer:
Responsibilities include supervising a professional/technical staff and managing day to day activities related to construction management and administrative/financial matters including:
Ensuring that construction work is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications and applicable codes and standards; ensuring that safety protocols are followed; completed on schedule, within budget and of high quality; review and evaluation of potential items of extra work and preparation of justifications and cost estimates; review and approval of quantities of work for payment purposes; ensuring that daily narratives, daily labor and time and material reports are completed accurately and on a timely basis; ensuring that non-conformances are satisfactorily resolved for close out of contracts; coordination of construction work with facility operations, maintenance, police, other contractors and other stakeholders; review of contract drawings for constructability, staging and logistics.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience with construction of water or wastewater projects for NYCDEP
- 10 years of experience on multi-discipline construction projects, with extensive experience managing construction work and project staff
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Primavera, and/or other contract management software desirable.
- Preference given to local candidates

Typical starting pay range for this position is $131,000.00 – $188,000.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
