As a Trademark Assistant under direct supervision, performs standard administrative functions and data entry in support of the Legal Department’s Trademark Team. You will apply knowledge of the department policies and procedures and utilizes a general understanding of other departments’ functions. You will serve as filing clerk and an administrative liaison with others within the Trademark Team and others in the Winery.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for accurately filing critical information in electronic files for both international and domestic trademarks.
  • Helps maintain docket action items.
  • Runs daily docket reports and pulls docket files.
  • Performs administrative duties such as but not limited to answering phones, typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing and sending Fed Ex packages.
  • Scans trademark registration and renewal certificates.
  • Maintains lists and procedures.
  • Corresponds with international counsel for status updates.
  • Prepares international powers of attorney for signing and processing.
  • Processes and files trademark invoices.
  • Maintains and distributes new billing codes.
  • Creates new trademark prosecution and enforcement files.
  • Produces various reports and completes various administrative projects for Trademark Team.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of legal experience; or an Associate’s degree.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook at a basic level.
  • Required to use discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Extremely detail orientated, focus on data entry accuracy.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

Associate’s degree plus 2 years of legal experience; OR Bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.

Excellent telephone skills.

Strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience working independently and exercising confidentiality.

Experience executing instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Skilled at dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Experience working with all levels of management.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $23.56/hr – $31.83/hr + overtime for any hours over 40 per week.
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
