Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Legal Support Teams provide a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services including contracts, legal rights, obligations, and privileges. They review legal data and advise the organization on appropriate legal action. The Trademark Paralegal position will report directly to a counsel in the TE Intellectual Property law group and will work to support all business units globally under the guidance of counsel. The position will have ongoing responsibility for daily exposure to the maintenance and protection of trademarks, related agreements and databases, contracts and legal documents. The individual will conduct trademark clearance searches, coordinate trademark registration and renewal activities, review trademark watch notices, work on oppositions/cancellations, and resolve be capable of addressing routine trademark questions under general direction of counsel. This position will provide general trademark paralegal support and assist counsel in preparation of various business support documents including contract templates, filings, policies, procedures, presentation materials and reviewing training slides relating to trademarks.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for searching, reviewing, and advising on new trademarks and maintaining the existing trademark portfolio, including high volume and complex contractual trademark agreements under guidance of counsel.
- Manage and coordinate trademark projects and drive solutions to meet trademark project objectives; provide project management support for key TE trademark matters.
- Support development of trademark training materials and review public facing documents for trademark issues.
- Provide assistance in establishing relevant policies and procedures for trademarks.
- Serve as a day-to-day trademark contact for TE internal clients; coordinate with counsel as appropriate and required.
- Maintain internal trademark databases information and work on trademark renewals.
- Prepare letters, reports and other materials, including obtaining specimens use, relating to trademarks; files documents with appropriate entities in accordance with legal trademark requirements.
- General trademark practice administrative work, e.g. mail delivery, courier, obtaining signatures and legalization.
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus Paralegal Certificate or requisite experience 5+ years of work experience in trademarks, preferably in an in-house law setting of large, global companies, with minimum of 4 years of trademark filing/prosecution/renewal skills
- Strong analytical skills with ability to multi-task several large trademark projects at once and ability to collaborate with all levels of a corporation
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with contract management systems and trademark/IP databases such as CPA Memotech system
- Robust communication skills and the ability to seamlessly communicate with clarity and precision, both verbal and written
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a global trademark/IP team in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on the urgency
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $80,440 – $120,660 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
