Job Summary

The Events Manager for Microbial Solutions is responsible for the planning and execution of all events/trade events for assigned US-based business segment(s).

This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, plan and execute all trade events and other events for assigned US-based businesses.
• Perform extensive research on each event; strategize, implement and measure the results for 40+ trade events per year.
• Perform pre-event planning strategies to provide historical and statistical analysis and return on investment.
• Provide advice and guidance to senior management regarding event budget requirements, ROI, participation.
• Select and manage vendors associated with event execution.
• Manage event schedule and related activities including other CRL trade event activities to secure premium space and achieve successful event results. Manage all aspects of booking, preparation for and rollout of CRL’s event involvement.
• Manage arrangements for CRL and CRL-sponsored event attendees.
• Manage event expenses, including obtaining substantial discounts.
• Evaluate event involvement, effectiveness of displays, and make changes and improvements as needed.
• Identify and research potential new events that meet the objective for growing new CRL business or acquisition.
• Analyze ROI and make recommendations for future event involvement.
• Ensure adequate staffing at all events and provide appropriate selection of marketing literature and materials.
• Develop agenda for and execute pre-event planning meetings to provide event history, statistical analysis and return on investment. Moderate meeting, provide suggestions and direction and provide statistical evidence for ideas raised. Develop event strategy from group discussion, assign tasks to complete strategy, and manage completion of all tasks to ensure prominent presence for CRL at the event.
• Identify and take advantage of all promotional opportunities available for each event.
• Negotiate with technical societies which produce the events for premium space and unpublished benefits. Maintain a relationship with each and offer suggestions for event improvement which would benefit CRL. Identify weak areas and provide assistance and advice to resolve these.
• Assist in the development and recommendation of departmental budget. Authorize expenditures in accordance with budget.
• Determine and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent.
Experience: 5 years experience with planning and executing trade shows and conferences.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure: None
Other: Negotiation, organization, statistical analysis, problem solving and strong communication skills required.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $85K – $95K USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.”
