Overview
Assist in a broad range of labor activities related to construction, landscaping, general maintenance and the beautification of areas and projects on the Reservation.
Responsibilities
• Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
A. Labor
• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, equipment and/or fixtures including activities related to maintenance, construction, painting and electrical.
• Assist with construction, installation, and repairs of structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes.
• Assist in the maintenance, repairs or construction of underground drainage, curbs or ditches and in the implementation of erosion control methods.
• May assist with Erecting framework for structures and laying subflooring.
• May assist with installation of prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letterdrops, and kick plates.
• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Assist with Installation and repairs of Electrical Distribution Systems, Lighting Systems, Electrical components and equipment.
• Clean windows, sidewalks, and paved areas with the use of brooms, shovels, pressure washers, etc.
• Inspects, tests and performs general maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Assembles furniture and office equipment.
• May be required to perform maintenance functions for tribal residences not limited to raking, burning, weed eating, painting, or other maintenance repair functions.
B. Landscaping
• Preparing and grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns, and planting/transplanting plants, shrubs and trees.
• Mows and trims lawns and cleans grounds.
• Trims shrubs and cultivates gardens.
• Attaches wires from planted trees to stakes to support trees.
• Hauls or spreads topsoil.
• Waters lawns, trees and plants.
• Builds forms for concrete borders, mixes and pours cement for garden borders and places decorative stone.
• Digs trenches and installs drain tiles.
• Makes repairs to concrete and asphalt walks and driveways.
• Weed abatement to include weed-eating, spraying weed killer and pulling weeds.
C. Painter
• Handles all aspects of the paint process as it pertains to the preparation and application of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer finishes to decorate and protect either interior or exterior surfaces, trims, and fixtures of residential and other structures.
D. Skilled Trades Apprentice
• Receives direct training and guidance in a Skilled Trades position to include one of the following: carpenter, plumber, equipment operator, mason/brick layer, HVAC technician.
E. Miscellaneous
• May perform duties to assist the Vineyard operations to include; vineyard harvest and other activities related to the vineyard operations.
• May perform duties to assist the Hay Farming operations to include; disking, seeding, irrigating and processing.
o May operate tractor and farming equipment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• O-4 years of experience in labor and/or landscape work or O-2 years of experience in a skilled trade.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• For those that drive company vehicles a Ca. Class C driver license is required and they must be vehicle insurable through Jackson Rancheria’s Agent.
• For those that operate aerial lifts and powered industrial lift trucks an Operator’s Certification for must be obtained at next available onsite class (A California Driver’s License is required to complete the mandatory department equipment training).
Pay range: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
