Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Transmission CADD Technician or CADD Designer to work in our Denver, CO office. This position uses AutoCAD and MicroStation based software to revise and create transmission line plan & profile, assembly, framing, point load, guying guide, details, foundation, and bill of materials drawing sheets that meet company and client quality control standards.
Essential Duties:
- Create and revise drawings under direct supervision from redlined drawings, verbal, and written instructions, marked prints, sketches, computations, and other sources prepared by task leads, designers or engineers.
- Create framing, assembly, bill of material, point load, guying guide and plan & profile drawings or design on projects.
- Apply transmission and drafting terms and symbols.
- Apply general overall knowledge of hardware, conductors, and equipment, foundation, and structure types, as well as voltage levels and ampacity used on typical transmission drawings.
- Use data gathered from PLS-CADD/PLS-Pole for drawing development.
- Gather information from manufacturers and vendors drawings for drawing and design development.
- Create and revise drawing lists, index, and cover sheet drawings.
- Back-check own or others work prior returning to engineer or designer.
- Apply client and company CAD standards on drawings.
- Perform CAD Standards checks on electronic drawing file packages.
- Perform visual Graphics checks on printed drawing sheet packages.
- Coordinate drawing development with all disciplines.
- Complete drawings from conceptual development, design phases, construction, to as-built.
Required skills, education, and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant drafting/design experience, or able to perform essential duties successfully, and meet the following qualifications.
- Certificate or associate degree in CADD, drafting, engineering technology or related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microstation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and coordination skills with drafting and engineering.
- Good understanding of what is required for project set-up and start-up.
- Good understanding of transmission hardware, conductors, and equipment used on transmission lines and their applications, types, manufacturers, specifications, and installation requirements.
- Good understanding of assemblies, pole types, drawing types; framing, assembly, point load, guying guide, plan & profiles, and bill of materials drawings.
- Highly proficient in the CAD Technician role including QA/QC procedures.
- PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole knowledge/experience are a plus.
Hourly Range:Base Compensation: $29.00 – $36.00
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
