Summary
The Transmission Operations Analyst through Senior is a key role providing expertise and support for a broad range of responsibilities for analytics and reporting for Transmission Operations as part of the Transmission Business Operations team. The analyst is responsible for assisting Transmission districts with their individual budget requests, and monthly reporting of Safety, O&M and Capital Budget, and other metrics as assigned.
With minimal supervision, this position will be responsible for analyzing budgets, preparing reports on capital Transmission projects, and performing various project related tasks as detailed below.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Directly or through others, the incumbent:
- Provide analytical and administrative support to Transmission Operations
- Prepare and initiate Work Authorization approval routing and assignment of proper budgetary accounting
- Develop internal controls and establish processes that enhance visibility and improve accuracy in cost accounting
- Develop and run assorted queries and reports to assist the organization in reporting, data analytics, trends and forecasting, and continuous process improvements
- Develop communication and reporting strategy to ensure that key stakeholders are kept informed
- Prepare and analyzing project data within assigned programs as required – PETE, FIM, Maximo
- Provide corporate and operational reports related to the performance and reliability of the Transmission System using advanced software reporting such as Tableau and Smartsheet to automate and create visual representations of data.
- Perform duties associated with reporting and develop metrics to track and monitor compliance with business and accounting procedures
- Prepare and initiate Work Authorization approval routing and assignment of proper budgetary accounting
- Assist in the development of year-end capital budget forecasting analysis
- Oversee technical support of supply chain applications and systems and assist with training of district personnel
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements and other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Proficient in use of office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Conceptual knowledge of reporting and data management best practices
- Ability to analyze, manage and create various capital budgeting reports and summaries.
- Effective analytical, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
Transmission Operations Analyst – The minimum education and experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years of electric utility experience is preferred.
Transmission Operations Analyst Sr. The minimum education and experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent relevant experience.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree required with 2-4 years of electric utility experience is preferred.
- Experienced in the use of enterprise systems and large data, reporting software such as Oracle, IBM, SQL Server, Cognos, Smartsheet, and Tableau
Skill Requirements:
- Strong written and oral communication
- Intermediate Microsoft office capabilities; Advanced is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
