Gannett Fleming is looking for a Transportation Operations Engineer in Nashville, TN. Join our team!
As a Transportation Operations Engineer, you will provide planning and design for a wide variety of transportations operations-related assignments, including intelligent transportation system (ITS) designs, traffic engineering, studies and plans, connected and automated vehicle emergency management (IM/EM) studies and plans, connected and automated vehicle (CV/AV) assignments, tolling and managed lanes studies and designs, and transportation system management and operations (TSM&O) plans.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Work with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work
- Analyzes moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
- Participate in constructibility evaluations
- Produce planning reports and studies as part of the project team
- Communicate with clients on task oriented issues and on project issues under the direction of the project manager.
- Attend public and agency meetings and participates under direct supervision of the project manager
- Work across disciplines to develop the overall design and plans for a project.
- Conduct agency and stakeholder coordination.
- Participates in the development of proposals as part of a pursuit team
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Licensing requirements:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- Master’s Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or experience:
- 8+ years of applicable experience
- Expertise with CADD
- Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with project proposals and presentations preferred
- Expertise in some areas of Design Manuals and Guidelines
- Some experience with management of small work groups and project tasks
- Knowledge agency processes and coordination with agency and stakeholders
- Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills
