The Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Performance Improvement related to trauma services. S/he reviews each trauma patient’s chart and chronological flow of the trauma patient throughout all services in the hospital to ensure adequate care rendered throughout length of stay. Ideal candidate will document any discrepancies with care and communicate with the specific area liaisons to close the loop on any issues. Performance Improvement Coordinator works in collaboration with Trauma Program Nursing Director to also manage all communication and facilities loop closure with any trauma related issues.
Required Experience:
– Advanced knowledge in treatment of trauma patients and knowledge of Performance Improvement processes is required.
– Responsible for the coordination of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety program for both the Adult and Pediatric trauma according to the American College of Surgeon Guidelines.
-Ensure the integrity and timeliness of the RUMC Trauma Registry.
– Demonstrates a full knowledge of American College of Surgeons Trauma Standards and works with Program Director to ensure compliance.
– Worlds with the Program Director in evaluation of the trauma response. Participates in all traumas and identifies opportunities for improvement.
-Expected to attend and maintain education requirements as set by the American College of Surgeons, as well as attending state/regional/local and national events
-Meets regularly with Trauma staff to ensure compliance of communication between carious departments and disciplines
– Advanced knowledge in treatment of trauma patients
– Knowledge of P.I Process
– Ability to utilize the standard MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint to perform/present data analysis
Education/Certification Requirements:
– Master’s Degree preferred
– NYS RN License Required
– BLS, ASLC, PALS Required
Salary Range: $100,000
