UI Tax / Employer Accounts – Deposits
Annual Salary Range: $37,682 – $41,506

The Division of Employment Security is filling Benefit Program Specialist Positions in the Employer Accounts Unit. The unit is responsible for the maintenance of state unemployment tax accounts. This includes filing quarterly contribution and wage reports and adjustments to these reports. This position is also responsible for establishing employer’s experience rates; processing refunds of overpayments; processing payments and deposits for taxes; and answering phone calls from employers, attorneys, and accountants.
What you will do:
- Investigate contribution matters and makes determinations regarding an employer’s account; interview and correspond with employers, attorneys, and accountants to obtain information concerning an employer’s liability and wage issues; collects delinquent contributions (taxes), interest, penalties, and wage reports due.
- Analyze information and applies correct section(s) of the law to the facts; prepare written determinations to be mailed to all interested parties; make determinations involving complex issues such as initial and successor liability; report ability of workers and wages; and estimation of taxable wages and assessment of contributions, interest, and penalties due; issue and maintain garnishments through the court system.
- Investigate requests from employers and make adjustments to the employer’s account.
- Assist in processing deposits and quarterly contribution and wage reports.
- Study new and revised agency procedures, rules, laws, regulations, and other program changes contained in manuals to maintain currency of knowledge and information.
All you need for success:
Qualifications
- 4 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
