The Employment Case Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Mission Programs and is responsible for meeting employment outcomes for job seekers who face barriers to employment through development of an Individual Achievement Plan, assessment of skills and training needs, and making appropriate referrals internally and externally to the organization.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coach a portfolio of target population transitional workers to become job-ready, and to secure and sustain employment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess the skills, abilities, interests and needs of participants
  • Communicate assessment findings to workers and co-develops with them an informed Individual Achievement Plan
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to transitional workers regarding their performance and developmental needs
  • Recommend and connect workers to training opportunities and support services
  • Match available temporary and permanent employment opportunities to the abilities and skills of workers and training participants
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to maintain relationships and communications with various employers and customers
  • Ensure high placement rates for active workers by continually following up through a variety of different touch points including one-on-one meetings, workshop presentations, phone calls, text message and/or social media contacts
  • Host employers on site for interviews, presentations, and other various employer activities
  • Ensure successful transition of permanently placed workers to mainstream employment by laying groundwork for and beginning implementation of post-placement and retention services, including services offered, systems for follow-up, & success indicators tracked
  • Ensure standards are met by accurately collecting and recording workers employment and programmatic records
  • Provide well-documented reports to appropriate departments
  • Assist in the interviewing and onboarding of applicants for temp staffing
  • Assist workers and training participants in obtaining certifications
  • Monitor and provide participant assistance in the Uplift Northwest Learning Center
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s in social work, psychology, human services, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience)
  • 3-5 years experience in case management, employment services, or workforce development, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Experience working with underserved and marginalized populations, including those who are justice-impacted
  • Experience with teaching is a plus
