The Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (URGO) connects students with both new and existing research and scholarship opportunities on campus, across the U.S., and internationally. Each summer over 30 Augsburg students participate in URGO’s 11-week research program on campus, while others pursue research opportunities off campus at institutions such as Harvard, Mayo Clinic, and the University of Minnesota. URGO provides advising and application assistance for graduate schools, pre-health sciences, and national fellowships.
URGO is hiring a student to work during the 2023-24 academic year, which includes September through May, for approximately 5-10 hours per week.
Pay Rate: $15.19 per hour

Job Description
- Reception for URGO office: Welcoming researchers, staff and students, set up advising appts, answer questions
- Managing email account
- Sorting/updating electronic documents
- Writing/submitting A-Mail announcements
- Writing story profiles for social media, including some video content creation
- Developing posters/announcements advertising events
- Maintaining website
- Assisting with newsletter
- Assisting with budget entries/paperwork
- Maintaining office space cleaning/organizing
- Supporting URGO work via tabling/classroom visits
- Supplies ordering for research teams
- Assisting with events planning and facilitation
- Tracking student research attendance
Pay Rate: $15.19 per hour

Qualifications
- Strong writing skills
- Friendly/accommodating
- Experience with multiple technologies (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, various online applications)
- Versed in social media and willing to work on marketing for the office
- Attentive to detail
- Organized
- Strong communication skills
- 5-10 hours per week, Monday through Friday any times between 8:30am-4:30pm
