Sam’s Club MAP is leading a new era of advertising and is a key growth opportunity for Walmart, Inc. Our vision is to lead the retail media businesses and precisely connect with our member by creating an additive advertising experience. To deliver on our goals, we are seeking to add a Senior Director I, who will be responsible for planning, delivering, and supporting high-priority strategic projects that advances our competitive position. In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will work cross functionally leading through the Enterprise’s strategy, Product, Tech, and operational deliverables for us to deliver on our goal to drive 32% of Op. Inc. by FY28.
Making an impact
The strategy leader will be responsible for working cross-functionally to manage key programs & initiatives tied to MAP’s vision, including strategic partnership management. He/She will work with internal stakeholders and external partners to refine our advertising strategy. The strategy leader will partner with stakeholders in the technology team and across the company to define, refine and manage our portfolio of partners and internal technical strategic priorities, including our execution plan. This will involve external partnership management of technical partners and close collaboration with other internal partner teams. He/She will help drive our future strategic outlook as we evaluate opportunities in additional streaming landscapes relative to our core infrastructure and delivery methods.
Position Description
- MAP Strategy: Develops and oversees the MAP’s strategy for Sam’s Club retail media platform. Participates with other senior MAP leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives, identify strategic needs and prioritize areas of focus
- Oversees the development, prioritization, and review of key business strategies and communication by leading cross-functional initiatives that impact budgets and resource requirements
- Sam’s Club Enterprise: Defines and manages multiple strategic projects towards deliverables, including incubation and implementation, and timelines. Engages internal business partners to execute and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring cross functional collaboration across multiple function and segments (for example, Tech, Product, Operations, Finance, and Legal)

In summary, he/she will provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and member needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a member environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
What we need
- Bachelor’s Degree, Masters and/or Executive Management Program Degree
- 5+ years of strategic portfolio management with a demonstrated track record of overseeing strategy, analysis & business process – specifically guidance/management & framework evolution
- 10+ years in building and managing a cross functional team, as well as developing a framework for portfolio management
- Ability to engage with all levels of the organization to translate high level strategy to specific programs/actionable objectives
- Strategic mindset to support new initiatives within the product & technology team
- Business-oriented, understanding the key business drivers of the company and how individual programs contribute to the overall success of our business plan

The annual salary range for this position is $128,000.00-$250,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Stock equity incentives

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 6 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.
