What you’ll do…
As part of the Sam’s Club Common Data Platform team, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, development, and implementation of our data platform solutions. You will be building scalable, highly available, enterprise-grade level data platform that allows our internal as well as external partners to create products and processes that drives value for our members. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of data management, analytics, and technical expertise in building scalable and reliable data platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders, to deliver innovative data solutions that optimize operations, enable data-driven decision-making, and enhance the overall member experience.

What you’ll do:
• Define the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data platform, aligned with the company’s objectives and growth plans.
• Establish business cases and projected return on investment (ROI) to identify and prioritize opportunities.
• Develop and execute a member-focused product roadmap via close collaboration with Senior Leadership, Engineering, Business, Product, Data Science, Marketing, Analytics, and Design teams.
• Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle, including ideation, requirement gathering, prioritization, and execution of initiatives related to the data platform.
• Work closely with stakeholders from various business units to understand their data needs, identify opportunities, and define requirements for data platform enhancements.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, data quality standards, and best practices to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the data platform.
• Enable advanced analytics and data insights by providing scalable infrastructure, tools, and frameworks for data scientists and analysts.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability to support business operations.
• Become a champion of data platforms to spread awareness throughout the company.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data management, big data technologies, cloud platforms, and analytics, and apply relevant innovations to the data platform.
• Define the strategies for your product family, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives.
• Drive business plans and projects by identifying the member and operational needs of the product.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of your products and initiatives to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness with participating stakeholders .

What you’ll bring:
• Sound business judgment as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
• Ability to think and act strategically and tactically.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, proven ability to influence others internally and externally.
• Systems-oriented thinking that can easily align cross-functional teams.
• Background influencing others, leading teams, managing stakeholders, and communicating clearly.

Preferred Qualifications
• An understanding of ML, and the ability to map customer problems to ML solutions with direct experience working with machine learning teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Computer Science or Engineering
• 9 + years in product management or related area

The annual salary range for this position is $126,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

– Stock equity incentives
