We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Strategist to join our dynamic team and help shape our data-driven vision.

As a Data Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in driving our member data strategy and ensuring that data is effectively leveraged across the organization to achieve our business objectives . You will d evelop W+ Member Data Strategy leveraging Walmart’s eco system of platforms, services, data infrastructure, to democratize and expand our ability to know our member . This includes leading the design and implementation of technical infrastructure that supports centralized data team as well as manage internal technical solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data product managers, data scientists, analysts, and business leaders, to develop and implement data-driven solutions that allow our business to make strategic decisions with speed and accuracy , improve operational efficiency, and enable innovation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Design multi-phased implementation roadmaps ,
  • Define and implement : b ig d ata , data enrichment strategies
  • Establishes and develops trusted partnerships and relationships with stakeholders across W+
  • Works with W+ Business Data Strategy Director to understand the needs and uses of data to support W+ Business
  • Own and manage data foundations requirements for W+ Member Data
  • Lead/support strategic and operational planning for W+ Data Management practices, focusing on meeting business needs and requirements through data functions
  • Help lead the continuous evolution of the analytics framework to allow W+ stakeholders to leverage our data & information assets
  • Identify opportunities for W+ to leverage its data to improve decision-making, program delivery, reporting, and results dissemination and monitoring
  • Identify opportunity to leverage Walmart data assets and tools
  • Identify opportunity to expand W+ data practices and solutions across revenue organization
  • Ensure W+ Data meets Enterprise Data Managements practices and standards
  • Develop and execute the overall data strategy, aligning it with the organization’s goals and objectives .
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize key strategic initiatives that can be enhanced through data analysis and insights.
  • Define metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to measure the success and impact of data-driven initiatives.
  • Identify internal and external data sources, both structured and unstructured, and establish processes for data collection, integration, and cleansing.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data governance policies, ensuring data quality, privacy, and security.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to identify data-driven insights and recommendations that drive business outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to business units in using data effectively, including data visualization, reporting, and interpretation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends in data analytics and technology, and identify opportunities to leverage new tools and techniques.
  • Drive a culture of data literacy across the organization through training programs and knowledge sharing.
  • Research independently with a strong sense of discipline and responsibility

You’ll wow us if:

  • You bring 5 + years of data strategy , solutioning, data product experience .
  • You are passionate about developing user-friendly products that solve stakeholder needs, comfort working through ambiguity, enjoy working in a startup like environment .
  • You have a strong data and technology background, including but not limited to, an understanding of data structures and information architecture (IA) fundamentals, and experience with tracking online and offline metrics. They will also thrive in a matrixed, cross-functional environment where they must communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You successfully led large and small development teams with an emphasis on “the big picture” ensuring on time delivery and results.
  • You focus on end users and key stakeholders to ensure accuracy requirements are identified from the beginning.
  • You are a s trong communicator with right blend of intellect and influence – act as the evangelist for what this team can bring to the organization’s current success .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management , MIS, Analytics, Computer Science, Business Management or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred .
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data strategies in a complex organizational environment .
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and data quality frameworks .
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced business intelligence and visualization software and other tools such as SQL, BigQuery
  • Familiarity with Enterprise tools such as GCP, Azure, Adobe, digital marketing landscape and CRM systems

Location

The preferred location for this position is San Bruno, CA. This is a hybrid position, and onsite expectations are generally 2-3 days/week .

The annual salary range for this position is $105,000.00-$195,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

– Stock equity incentives

Minimum Qualifications…
