What you’ll do… User Discovery: Requires knowledge of: User experience strategies; User interviews and surveys; User journeys; Story boards; Contextual inquiries. To assess gaps between business expectations and user experience strategies. Leverages a deep understanding of trends in user consumption habits to develop or improve interaction design and user experience strategies. Anticipates and mitigates risks during information synthesis and independently arrives at possible solutions for interactive designs. Analyzes and interprets existing data (for example web analytics, user surveys, customer support calls). Managing Functional Partnerships: Requires knowledge of: Stakeholder identification and mapping; Stakeholder analysis; Stakeholder communication; Stakeholder engagement techniques; Stakeholder management effectiveness tools and methods; Fluency in many specialized business vernacular; Deep understanding of diverse markets to deliver customer and business value; adapt style and best practices to accommodate cultural differences. To build, maintain and enhance effective internal and external partnerships; clearly draft valuable information and seek input. Influence technical outcomes and assist in communicating shared goals with diverse groups and parties by linking their interests to that of the business. Identify and address additional partner technical needs and educate them on value creation. Communicate with other individuals or teams to solve shared business problems cooperatively. Consults regularly with leaders of business unit(s), serve to advise on business strategy decisions. Brings ideas and technical solutions proactively to the business partners and stakeholders. Design Research : Requires knowledge of: Principles of research; Best practices of qualitative and quantitative research; Data analysis techniques; Techniques to detect gaps in information; Legal risks, factual errors, and breaches of codes of conduct involving the use of research material; Organizational research requirements; Success metrics for research projects; Purpose of research and how it will be used; Values, limitations, and risks of sources and social networks for research purposes; Emerging methods for obtaining relevant information. To independently propose hypotheses for research. Provide inputs to modify research approaches and execution plans. Guides research processes with inputs regarding type, quality, and quantity of data and information to be collected. Verifies the reliability and accuracy of the information through detailed checks. Detects any gaps in information uncovered and removes unreliable information. Clarifies and resolves inconsistencies in the data of research projects. Analyzes and interprets relevant data for results and important insights. Translates research insights and metrics, including research from other sources, into actionable recommendations that inform design and business strategies. Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus : Requires knowledge of: Verbal/Non-verbal behaviors; Application and allocation of Business Communication styles/techniques in ambiguous and challenging situations; Communication channels/mediums; Interpersonal skills and universal relationship building with ability to connect seemingly unconnected parties; Influencing styles. To communicate articulately and concisely in stakeholder meetings involving multiple teams. Convey complex information and address ambiguity for robust technology development. Build productive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Influence team and stakeholders to take meaningful action with sound recommendations. Independently prepare clear, concise, logically structured and meaningful reports/material based on facts. Seek and provide constructive feedback, anticipate needs/questions, respond appropriately. Driving Customer/Client Needs: Requires knowledge of: Customer and business problems; Dependencies and impacts on product processes/ways of working; Journey mapping; Process optimization; Communication and influencing techniques. To build and maintain customer relations to understand customer requirements/problems. Creates customer journey touchpoints to anticipate product enhancements by pre-empting gaps/risks in the product experience. Simplifies and improves processes to reduce turnaround times, increase effectiveness, and drive customer delight. Usability Testing and Iteration : Requires knowledge of: User profiles; Testing scenarios; Documentation; Test plans To understand the basics of testing against a design specification. Identifies major activities and documents associated with user acceptance testing. Cites multiple examples and types of acceptance tests for user acceptance testing. Compiles a list of procedures and guidelines for test developers and end users. Explains the features and objectives of alpha and beta tests. Interaction Design: Requires knowledge of: User-centered design principles; Native mobile conventions and capabilities (for example, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines for iOS, Google’s Android design patterns); Information hierarchy principles; Task analysis; System design processes. Interaction patterns and templates. To define and document design details through process flows, site maps, wireframes, and functional specifications independently. Adheres to and uses interaction patterns and templates to design consistent and scalable design solutions that account for primary and secondary use cases, more complex data exchanges, and complete error conditions. Visual Design : Requires knowledge of: User-centered design principles; Native mobile conventions and capabilities (for example, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines for iOS, Google’s Android design patterns); Templates and style guides; Design tools. To define and document design details with accurate design specifications (for example, position, padding, font size) in multiple formats independently. Performs visual quality assurance against a design specification and rapidly solve issues. Ensures adherence to and the usage of templates and style guides to design consistent and scalable design solutions and contribute to style guide. Prototyping: Requires knowledge of: Prototyping disciplines, tools, and techniques within target environments; User-centered design principles; Information hierarchy and design principles, task analysis, and system design processes. To adhere to and use interaction patterns and templates to design prototypes that account for primary and secondary use cases, complex data exchanges, and error conditions and contribute to the pattern library. Designs and develops prototypes and technical proofs of concept (for example, interaction models, data transfer, functional user interface components) using a range of technologies (for example, HTML5, CSS, Javascript/jQuery, PHP/Python/Ruby/RoR). Builds interactive models that can access live content and builds reusable components and tools to enable and facilitate prototyping. Diagnoses and reports minor prototyping problems found while building working models. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
