Job Description
The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Utility Technician to work at our Detroit, MI location. The Utility Technician will perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of truck fleet and truck fleet facility.
Pay: Up to $18.80 depending on experience
Shift/Schedule: Afternoon, 3 PM Start

Responsibilities
The Utility Technician will:
- Lubricate and greases truck fleet
- Perform oil changes
- Inspect vehicles for the purpose of identifying safety defects
- Make minor repairs to vehicles/equipment during preventive maintenance
- Move equipment within the yard for the purpose of cleaning/maintenance
- Use a steam cleaner to clean equipment and related components
- Maintain steam cleaning unit and work area
- Manage waste from the steam cleaning process in accordance with procedures
- Maintain logs, schedules and other records
- Provide general housekeeping in the garage
- Assist mechanics as needed
- Perform other projects and duties assigned by the manager
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of lubrication points
- Basic reading, math, and computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to manipulate hand and power tools
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Valid chauffer’s driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a good driving record
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong self-starter
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, for extended periods, lift 50lbs, climb on and under vehicles
- Ability to tolerate noise and temperature variations
- Good visual acuity, depth perception and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
