Position Summary
This department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to support our broad range of activities. This position is a temporary, full time position, and hybrid, blending both remote and on-site work.
Key responsibilities include:
Event Management (45%)
– Work with student leadership teams on logistics for hackathons and student club events
– Act as onsite event manager for hackathons and large student events
– Lead event promotion and marketing initiatives, including digital signage, social media, email listservs, and more
– Assist Career Development Team with Corporate Partner tabling events
– Assist with alumni engagement initiatives and external talks
Scheduling and Student Clubs (30%)
– Manage scheduling for student clubs
– Attend and coordinate student organizations’ weekly meetings
– Act as the main contact between student clubs and staff
– Handle department’s room scheduling requests on 25Live
– Handle payments for student-organized events
External Relations Team Member (25%)
– Participate in weekly meetings and contribute to team projects
– Manage UNC CS merchandise inventory
– Organize and communicate with event volunteers
– Support DEI Program Lead, Career Development Lead, Webmaster, and External Relations team on marketing and communication efforts
– Assist with event receipt tracking for financial reconciliation
– Coordinate with administrative staff for event preparation
– Lead generation for new partners and donor
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Administrative/Office Management Experience
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
– Proven experience in event and project management
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
– Ability to work well with a broad range of people, including students, staff, faculty, and corporate partners
– Ability to work on Google platform
