Ridgeline Games is focused on building rich narrative campaigns with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio in the Seattle area composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Vegetation artist with a passion for creating realistic high-quality foliage.
You will be responsible for helping to bring our next-gen vegetation library to life using a variety of photorealistic techniques and working with our level artists to create immersive and authentic worlds. You have experience with production techniques and dealing with budgets while also ensuring high quality execution. You have expertise in vegetation creation programs such as Speedtree, excellent PBR material knowledge and a good eye for organic shape language.
Reporting to the Lead Vegetation artist, you are familiar with using reference photography and concept art as your inspiration.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of photorealistic vegetation that accurately matches real-world biomes and conforms to performance requirements.
- Work closely with the Lead Environment Artist and Tech Artists to improve, support and refine new tools, shaders, features, and workflows for the vegetation pipeline.
- Collaborate with environment & level artists to create and maintain vegetation placement rulesets.
- Work with external vendors as needed to provide asset briefs & feedback that ensure visual and technical quality standards are met.
- Maintain adherence to file structures, naming conventions and other established workflows, keeping in mind that your work may be utilized by multiple people and studios.
- Opportunity to travel to sourcing locations to gather scan data utilizing photogrammetry & photometric stereo rigs.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Vegetation Artist
- A portfolio demonstrating the creation of photorealistic foliage and biomes, preferably leveraging real world scan data.
- Expertise using Speedtree, Maya, Substance, or other equivalent programs.
- Strong understanding of techniques for optimizing & maintaining performant real-time vegetation.
- Strong communication & organizational skills.
- Experience capturing & processing Photogrammetry a plus.
- Experience with Houdini a plus.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
° $95,450 – $141,800
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
° $89,200 – $141,800
• Jersey City, NJ:
° $105,250 – $141,800
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
° $89,200 – $118,550
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
° $89,200 – $130,750
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
