Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
-Build prototype automotive parts and subassemblies and vehicle in preparation for production
-Work well independently and within a team
-Proficiently use various mechanical tools and heavy machinery
-Stage, set up, assemble, hardware, and test equipment per technical work instructions and ensure the highest level of quality
-Follow defined procedures and processes and create them where needed
-Document any inconsistencies within processes, procedures, or parts and work with engineering or manufacturing to implement changes
-Assist in the development of processes and techniques for continuous improvement
-Assist with manufacturing and facilities operations
-Complete tasks related to site preventative maintenance in accordance with the asset management system
-Work closely with engineers and leadership to develop and implement operational improvements focused on driving takt times down and ease of repeatability
-Rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
-Keep a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
-Willing to work overtime on needed occasions
-Up to 10% of travel

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Associate degree in automotive technology or equivalent area of study is prefered
Licenses/Certificates:
Experience/Skills:
• 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, aviation, automotive, or oil and gas industry
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to take project goals, and inputs, and work toward the end goal beyond individual task assignment
• Must be able to work to design with minimal specifications
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Liaise with the engineering team to provide feedback from events that could feed into the engineering development of the car
• Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
• Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment
• high voltage vehicle system experience and training is appreciated but not mandatory
• Familiarity with calibrated measurement devices including load cells, multi-meters, calipers, torque wrenches, depth gauges, and micrometers
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of time.
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the office and warehouse to execute work efficiently
• The person in this position might move testing equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across factory.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with his team and other teams that need testing to ensure smooth operation.
• Work on low and high voltage vehicle systems
$20 – $53 an hour
