We are currently seeking a Video Editor to join the Brand Team. In this role, you are critical in ensuring the success of Lucid’s Brand Design Team as a Video Editor and report directly to the Lead Video Editor. You are a true team player working cross-functionally within the various teams and departments at Lucid. Video Editors have a unique perspective and a creative sensibility able to translate across content types.

The Video Editor must be highly organized and have a wide range of editing skills and capabilities. The Video Editor must have a strong understanding of all aspects of the post-production workflow. While working alongside the Creative Director and producers, you are responsible for creating compelling sizzle videos, commercials, social media content, technical videos, brand and launch video content, and short and long-form documentary-style videos. You have proven storytelling abilities driving engagement across any platform.

The Role:

    • Create world-class branded content with your exceptional storytelling and editing abilities and execute daily needs in a timely manner
    • Demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with departments outside of the Brand team, including but not limited to manufacturing, engineering and retail
    • Collaborate and partner closely with producers, creatives, finishing team, and music supervisors from ideation through to final master delivery
    • Keep up with creative trends and contribute to the creative process by providing examples of work that demonstrate creative sensibilities and represent an artistic point of view
    • Hold strong creative partnerships with a copywriter, art director, producer, and director
    • Visualize the creative team’s vision in the early concept stage and continual ideation with the team throughout the edit
    • Must be familiar with all, if not most, of the company’s footage for the purpose of content creation.
    • Be immersed in our company values and passions, instilling the integrity of the brand in the look, feel, and the execution of narrative storytelling with sizzle videos, commercials, social media content, technical videos, brand and launch video content, and short and long-form documentary-style videos.

Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience at an offline editorial house, in-house advertising agency, or in-house commercial production company working on brand centered video projects as a Senior Video Editor
    • Deep knowledge and experience both creatively and technically in the following fields: Broadcast, web, social and event deliverables
    • Knowledgeable in the field of creative editing – the pictorial language, music styles, sound design and structure of storytelling with an ability to adapt to a variety of visual styles, timeframes, and deadlines
    • Must have a strong understanding of the post-production workflow and be able to supervise: offline editing, motion graphics, VFX, audio mixing, finishing & conform
    • Must have a strong understanding of media server, storage solutions and media file structures
    • Must have strong knowledge of NLEs, frame rates, codecs, file formats, and cameras
    • Expert level knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder
    • Proficient knowledge of audio mixing techniques and the ability to supervise and/or work with professional audio engineers during sound mixing sessions
    • Experience with in-person and remote live edit sessions

Preferred:

    • Proficient knowledge of Adobe AfterEffects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Audition is a plus
    • Must be familiar with Davinci Resolve for color prep and dailies, color grading is a plus

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
• California (Bay Area) – $88,000 – $121,000

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
