About This Role:
The Wildlife and Fishers Extension team in the Department of Horticulture & Natural Resources is seeking a Natural Resources Video Production Specialist to produce digital media content to promote science-based management of fisheries and wildlife resources to stakeholders in the state of Kansas and beyond. This position will be responsible for producing video content, info graphics and other marketing materials, managing social media accounts, and editing podcast episodes.
This position will be responsible for:
- Video production (creating video products focusing on wildlife, fish, and natural resources management)
- Digital media production, specifically, videography and audio products
- Video editing
- Post production processing
- Developing marketing materials
- Managing websites and social media accounts
- Operating digital production equipment
- Coordinating and overseeing student hourlies assigned to help with social media marketing and digital media processing.
- Liaising with the College of Agriculture and Horticulture and Natural Resources communications and marketing staff.
- Evaluating effectiveness of marketing techniques.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in video production or Biology. (Two years of relevant experience can be used in lieu of associates degree).
- 1 year of video production experience.
- Experience with or ability to learn how to use design platforms such as, Adobe Creative Suite or Mac Video and Audio design products.
- More than one year of video production experience. Experience with wildlife cinematography.
- Experience in event promotion and coordination.
- A working knowledge or ability to learn web design, development and best website management practices.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
$19.90 – $24.04 per hour
