This position is responsible for producing high-quality and compelling short-format video content, still images, and multimedia for the City of St. Cloud and its various departments, for distribution both internally and to the public. In addition, this position will assist Media Services staff as needed with the audio/video production of City Council meetings, and board meetings, and provide coverage of seasonal and special events. This position reports to Senior Public Information Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Record video and audio using the most appropriate device or devices for capture.
Edit and render video and audio professionally and punctually, to meet project specifications.
Coordinate with supervisor to publish professional video, audio, or multimedia projects via the most appropriate platform or platforms.
As needed, assist with the operation of the Council Chambers audio board, switcher, and Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras.
Occasionally, assist with creating PowerPoint presentations, post-production, and closed captioning.
Essential operational knowledge of equipment and software includes but is not limited to the following:
- PTZ camera system
- Crestron presentation system
- PC or Apple computer equipment
- Microsoft Office software
- Video editing software
- Audio editing software
- Graphic design software
- Microphones, receivers, mixers, and other sound equipment
Ability to adapt to and utilize new software and hardware to professional standards is essential.
Ensures appropriate organization and retention of production materials and data.
Ability to work reliably and professionally under pressure, with limited supervision, in situations where priorities may shift.
Performs basic troubleshooting functions.
Performs other duties as required or necessary.
Ability to work evening hours and occasional weekends.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High School diploma or GED required; additional education, formal training, and professional experience in A/V production or a related field preferred.
Current and valid State of Florida Driver License.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate various office machines, tools, and equipment. Tasks require the ability to exert medium physical effort in light to medium work, but which may involve exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation. Tasks require climbing, crawling, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, reaching, and standing.

Working Conditions:
Works primarily in an office environment. May work outdoors in all types of weather. Knows applicable occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knows how to react calmly and quickly in emergencies. May be required to work within the Emergency Operations Center during activation.
