Job Summary
The Visual Merchandiser is an exciting new role and opportunity to come in on the ground floor of Lulus’ new retail expansion in Los Angeles. We are opening our first flagship on Melrose and looking for a visionary leader to translate our product storytelling from site to shop. You will lead and develop the product flow and display in store to support the brand’s in-depth product offerings – from clothing and shoes to bags and accessories. You will have the opportunity to develop creative merch stories that give the consumer a superior shopping experience. This will be a cross functional position working closely with HQ to manage store inventory needs and new product launches. This role will bring the product vision to life in the store and be a team leader to educate the store stylists on brand quality, trends, and styling suggestions. The ideal candidate has previous experience as a visual merchandiser and exhibits an entrepreneurial energy that will thrive in developing new and meaningful processes.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with HQ to understand upcoming trends and product timelines and how to translate them to success in your store.
- Develop captivating merchandise displays that showcase the range of Lulus products – including clothing, footwear, and accessories.
- Execute floor moves in a way that creates clear stories and wearable buying suggestions.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify replenishment opportunities, and engage in regular stock audits.
- Inspire and educate store stylists on product details, styling techniques, seasonal trend information, upcoming launches, and brand standards.
- Communicate and collaborate directly with HQ and Warehouse teams on store product flow and needs.
- Plan and own an effective shipment process utilizing reporting and business analysis to maximize new product placement on the floor and in back of house; create strategies for replenishment and recovery of sell-through and markdowns.
- Provide weekly product and visual feedback to HQ along with environment photos to highlight merchandising and display updates.
- Be obsessed with the details. Perfect your store’s product assortment and implement best practices that will be utilized cross-functionally.
- Ensure product presentations and clothing displays meet brand standards and maintain a high level of organization and neatness for an uncluttered and clean shopping experience.
- Launch and maintain all sales campaigns.
- Rotate and edit product presentations on the floor to influence sales and highlight key product drivers or collections.
- Lead as a brand ambassador, taking pride in the details of your store.
What You’ll Need
- You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a merchandising role at a retail store.
- You have a growth mindset that is open to new, unexpected opportunities & challenges.
- You have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
