Description
Asphalt Green Volleyball Club (AGVC) is a competitive volleyball club for females aged 12-18, that competes in the Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA). We offer programs, classes, teams and camps for adults and children (see www.asphaltgreen.org for more information on who we are).
Asphalt Green is looking to hire a Director for our Volleyball Club Program based at our Upper East Side location (1750 York Avenue at East 91st St.). The Volleyball Director supervises all club operations and is responsible for the development of a long-term strategic plan while achieving financial objectives for the program and fostering on-court performance. With a coaching staff of 6, the Club Director will have full responsibility for 75+ players across 6-8 teams from September-May. Additionally, the director will oversee all AGVC camps, clinics, and private lessons that take place throughout the year.
This is a full-time position with a salary of $60,000 and benefits. The job is on-site and requires proof of full vaccination status.
Primary Job Functions:
- Provide Technical direction and development components to the club and its coaching staff.
- Spearhead new initiatives in delivering community-based volleyball clinics and/or leagues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with area schools and parents as a part of AGVC recruitment strategy.
- Assist in budget oversight to track and meet all financial goals.
- Assist in leading Club parents and players through the college recruitment process.
- Market, organize, and execute AGVC tryouts in accordance with GEVA guidelines.
- Organize and book all necessary travel arrangements and other related logistics for players and staff for travel tournaments.
- Supervise, hire, train and manage Club staff members.
- Oversee and complete all administrative tasks related to AGVC, such as staff payroll, facility/gym schedules, uniform and equipment purchases as well as payment processing for clinics and private lessons.
- Attend scheduled practices and games
Qualifications
- Coaching experience [3+ years] at the collegiate level OR coaching experience [5+ years] at the Club level
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (i.e., Sports Management, Physical Education) or related experience
- Experience managing a club or college program a plus.
- Playing experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred.
