Volleyball Coach
Job Description:
General Statement Of Duties: Leads Academy registrants in drills, skills; stressing sport specific fundamentals and good sportsmanship.
Distinguishing Features Of The Class: An employee in this classification is responsible for leading academy registrants in drills, skills; stressing fundamentals and good sportsmanship. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a Recreation Supervisor and/or Recreation Coordinator. Supervision of other employees is not normally a responsibility of positions in this class.
Examples Of Essential Duties Performed:

- Works with registrant, ages 5-16, in sport specific settings and is responsible for teaching skills that will allow for greater enjoyment and growth.
- Maintains all paperwork, attendance sheets and registration forms for assigned groups.
- Responsible for the safety of all participants in the program during instruction.
- Provides a positive role model for the participants in the program.
- Maintains positive public relations by representing the District to the public in a positive manner.
Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge: Some knowledge of behavior management and discipline of children.
Skills: The teaching of sport related skills to youth; the administration of basic First Aid and CPR. Personal engagement at a high level in the sport.
Abilities: Work successfully with young people of school age; provide clear instructions and directions.
Physical Demands Of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as boxes/bags of activity materials, sports equipment, etc. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while working with children in activities. Persons with disabilities may be able to perform the essential duties of this class with reasonable accommodation. Experience And Training: Associates degree or equivalent; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the above-described duties. College level participation in the sport applying for is a plus.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain current First Aid and CPR certificates. Because this job is considered safety sensitive, a drug screen test will be required prior to employment.

Hours/Shift: Monday – Thursday 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM
