SUMMARY: Coordinates, directs, and supervises volunteers in the school’s Volunteer Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Recruits and coordinates volunteers.
- Recruits, interviews, and provides training for volunteers.
- Evaluates the program and makes suggestions regarding program development.
- Actively promotes community involvement through the school paper, PTA, and various community businesses.
- Plans yearly appreciation luncheon and/or monthly volunteer recognition.
- Writes monthly volunteer hours report to give to the principal.
- Keeps the principal informed regarding the volunteers and the volunteer program.
- Meets with the Superintendent (or designee) and other volunteer coordinators in the district to periodically discuss the programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to students, parents, and employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
