Description
The Senior Services Division is looking for a Volunteer & Program Coordinator to join their team. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and typically works Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.
The Volunteer & Program Coordinator performs professional level work by managing all elements of the Senior Services volunteer program. Additionally, this role is responsible for creating and implementing innovative engagement opportunities ( i.e., discussion groups, social events, lifelong learning, etc) for older adults. This role works closely with the Senior Services Team and community in order to identify needs and fill gaps related to support group needs, and requested activities/events. This role will also work closely with the Volunteer Coordination Specialist who oversees the organization’s volunteer program and volunteer management software.
Total Compensation Package
Hiring Range: $25.78 – $30.33/hour

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties
General Duties:
- Implements and oversees the Senior Services volunteer program by interviewing, training, scheduling and overseeing volunteer roles, placement, and planning volunteer appreciation efforts.
- Develops, coordinates, implements, evaluates and markets a wide variety of enriching programs and events for older adults based on community needs and interests.
- Coordinates community projects and oversees the Medical Equipment Loan Closet by managing inventory and coordination and tracking of community use.
- Builds relationships with internal and external partners to coordinate outreach and sponsorship opportunities in order to meet overall program goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Volunteer Management or related field – required.
Experience
- 1 year experience required in volunteer management and program development.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Mandarin and English preferred.
Or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the Necessary Applicant Traits.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record for continued employment.
