Job Overview:
The Vice President, IIS – Trading is responsible for managing and further developing LPL’s trading capabilities.LPL is continuously enhancing their trading solutions. This role will be responsible for work on our trading platforms, technology implementation across security types, multiple vendors and systems, and candidates for this role should expect to work with a diverse group of cross-functional teams in a process-driven manner to ensure creative and continuous improvements – with the goal of exciting our advisor base, leading the market, and attracting additional business.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a vision, road-map, growth opportunities, andproduct backlog according to business value or ROI to ensure we are delivering the highest quality trading capabilities to our advisors
- Lead the planning of product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities with PI roadmaps
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Set direction for Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout the project and facilitate requirements based on market analysis and industry trends to maximize value to our advisors
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Collaborate across the firm to maintain alignment on vision, strategy, and performance to goals, approaching strategy with an entrepreneurial mindset, leveraging critical thinking to increase the value proposition of assigned products and programs
- Be aware of the risks posed at every phase of the development life cycle, and ensure oversight and controls are implemented to minimize the risk to the firm and to the advisors
- Provide thought leadership on a wide range of subjects related to trading services, including regulatory matters, market trends and the competitive landscape.
- Be a thought leader within both the product and trading space, actively looking for opportunities to differentiate our team within LPL, and LPL within the Financial Industry.
- Communicate and coordinate with teams and stakeholders ensuring wide alignment on direction, priority, and strategic benefits.
- Be the subject matter expert on our users and their needs by conducting customer interviews, reviewing product analytics, hosting user feedback sessions, and aggregating insight from internal partners

Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of related experience in trading; with a strong understanding of industry
- 3+ years of experience across Advisory, Brokerage, various security types and order entry platforms
- Bachelor’s Degree

- Strong analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities, gauge results against established objectives, and make informed tradeoffs in a prioritization exercises.
- Expert communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to present materials to the highest levels in the organization and serve as one of the recognized subject matter experts on the team
- Excels at delivering new capabilities using Agile methodology, at times managing multiple priorities across a portfolio of trading products simultaneously
- Curious learner who develops hands-on expertise in their products and related processes, and is comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous work situations.
- Comfortable interacting directly with advisors both 1:1 and in large groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferences:
- Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 55 and 66
- MBA, CFA or advanced degree
- Experience in a client-facing role and/or the financial services industry, preferably within a broker-dealer, RIA, investment or financial services firm
- Agile and/or SAFe trainings and certifications
- Knowledge of UI/UX fundamental principles
Pay Range:
$132,080-$198,120/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
