Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Citigroup (Citi) and Citibank NA (CBNA) Risk Management Committees of the respective Boards of Directors (collectively, the “Boards”), the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, the Citibank Chief Risk Officer, senior management and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks. The assessments are undertaken by four core Review functions including: Fundamental Credit Risk, Confirmation of Basel Review and Analysis , Collateral Risk Review , and Global Portfolio Review .
GRR also includes the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework, Capital Planning Review and Challenge, and Independent Risk Quality Assurance teams sponsored by the Head of Global Risk Review. Centralized support to the GRR organization is provided by the GRR Chief Administrative Office, Infrastructure and Strategic Projects, GRR Analysts and GRR Analytics teams. Within GRR, the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework function drives best-in-class credit risk officer frameworks, training, policies, assessments, and periodic reevaluation consistent with expectations of the Boards, senior management, and regulators.
The SCO Development and Leadership Lead will report to the Credit Risk Officer Framework Development Manager and the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the Senior Credit Officer (SCO) Engagement Program, the SCO Leadership Roundtable, the SCO Global Forum, and other ongoing education and development needs for seasoned SCOs, (collectively, the “Programs”) who are the foundation for all credit risk decisions made within Citi and CBNA. The importance of this function requires that the firm have a comprehensive and consistent approach to managing the Credit Risk Officer universe. The incumbent will have extensive interaction with senior management within Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory (BCMA), Citi Markets, the Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), Personal Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM), Independent Risk Management, Compliance, and Learning & Development (L&D), will develop critical governance skills, and play a key role in enhancing the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework.
The Global Credit Risk Officer Framework is a core building block of sustaining an effective credit culture which supports safety and soundness at Citi, and which includes numerous key elements that have been enhanced to create a more proactive, inclusive and transparent management of Citi’s Credit Risk Officer universe as governed by the Credit Risk Officer Policy. The Global Credit Risk Officer Framework governs all aspects of the Credit Officer (CO) journey beginning with training and qualifications for COs through governing the requirements and elevation process for achieving the SCO Level 1 Designation, the highest credit approval level at Citi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive project plans for various Programs, including the semi-annual SCO Engagement Program and the annual SCO Leadership Program
- Support development of and selection of relevant case studies to be included in the various SCO Development Programs, covering a wide array of business and risk topics
- Work with external vendors to create an experience for seasoned SCOs and assist with targeted and specific developmental guidance and learning
- Support the organization of the various Programs including securing various senior stakeholders to participate in the Programs and liaising with various stakeholders including Citi Event Planners and External Venues to ensure all logistical needs for the Programs are met
- Responsible for the ongoing support and management of the quarterly SCO Global Forum
- Prepare presentations and communication to a variety of senior stakeholders including Advisors, Steering Committee, Managers and Candidates regarding any component of the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework
- Manage and prioritize projects based on business needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement
- Support Credit Risk Officer Framework Manager in development and management of all SCO Development related programs and initiatives
- Gather deliverables and/or prepare presentations to meet internal and regulatory needs
- Partner with colleagues across Citi Learning to identify best practices, potential Risk-wide or Citi-wide offerings relevant for the Global Credit Risk Officer Framework
- Ad hoc projects as designated by the Head of Global Credit Risk Officer Framework
Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex concepts and translate into “user-friendly” language
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders (Business Heads and Senior Risk Officers)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), particularly strong Power Point skills used to visually convey compelling and easy to understand messages
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Developed project/time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to successfully handle competing priorities
Knowledge/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree a plus
- Knowledgeable on credit risk management concepts
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Program Development/Management experience preferred
- Proven track record of delivering results and strategic initiatives in a complex environment
- Recognized success as a change agent
