Maintenance/Facility Technician

Essential Functions ofthe Position
• Maintainsthe grounds, including mowing, irrigation and general upkeep of plantings, fencesand building facades at several locations in the Fort Worth area, including Joshua ranch. Ensure all facilities and groundsare maintained in a safe, environmentally friendly, and professional manner.
• Upkeep of dog park by removing gravel andreplacing underlayment; replacement of gravel.
• Routinemaintenance of all areas and assigned facilities.
• Adheres to highest safety standards; ensuresfacility meets OSHA requirements.
• Safelyoperate and maintain company equipment. Maintain and understand thoroughly the general equipment needed for thedaily operations of the facility.
• Identifyand correct safety issues
• Assist Development Department with Gift inKind Donations – picking up and unloading pallets, storing items
• Representthe Humane Society of North Texas by providing excellent customer service andfocus.
• Protect the confidential information oncustomers and donors.
• Report to work at assigned start time; goto/return from breaks and lunch at assigned times; leave work at assignedquitting time.
• Ability to meet physical demands.
• Refinishing floors within the shelter.
• Other projects assigned as needed.
• Must be eligible to be a “driver” for theHumane Society of North Texas and must perform “driver” duties. Such “driver” duties may include, but not belimited to, driving a box truck or transport van. Ability to drive a truck withadoption trailer or livestock trailer preferred.
• Maintain accurate information and recordkeeping.
• Provide excellent customer service and focus.

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Ability to learn and quickly adapt to changesin programs and procedures.
• Must be patient, courteous and work well understressful conditions.
• Must have a valid Texas drivers’ license andqualify as insurable driver on company insurance plan.

• Regular exposure to animal odors, diseases,possible contagious conditions, bites, scratches,animal waste and moderate noise levels.
