General Summary: In this position, you will perform several job duties but not limited to, loading, unloading, replenishment, stock moves, dock hauling at the Manteca Distribution Center.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading pallets of product and empty pallets.
- Shift hand off, get together with previous shifts Dock person and go over any and all information that needs to be passed on I.E (Trailers, Bulk, Pallets, Wrapper, Add-ons, Fuel, Batteries and Fork-lifts).
- Position is also responsible for locking out trailers in order for trailer to be deemed safe to load and un-load.
- The person running the dock is responsible for coordinating all activity on the dock, I.E ( directing traffic, emptying trailers, loading trailers, empty pallets, air locks, trailer jacks, safety sheet, wheel chocks, dock plates and clean-up).
- The dock person needs to make sure load sheet is clearly written I.E (City, date, weight, door#, # of pallets, # of Straps/ load bars, Initials in comment area, time load finished and all product that is loaded must be recorded on load sheet).
- Loader is responsible for making sure that the units on the Trailers are on and set to -20 before loading.
- Quality Standards must be followed at all times during loading process where pallets must never stay on dock for no longer than 30minutes.
- This person at times will be responsible for audits as well as making sure pallets going out not stacked properly find the picker who picked and have him restack the pallet.
- Communication if the dock starts to get backed up, get together with Supervisor or Team lead of the shift immediately do not wait until the dock is unmanageable.
- The wrappers should never be changed from our predetermined wrap counts and all other adjustments made should be communicated to Supervisor and or Team leader before performing on your own.
- If the wrappers are down the dock loader is responsible for making sure the team members wrap pallets tightly and to the pallet, if a team member does not do right make that individual re-wrap.
- Loader will be responsible for loading pallets onto trailer try to stay in order of the way it will be loaded only time to go out of sequence is when a tall pallet will be behind a small pallet to prevent tipping over.
- When receiving loads in loader is responsible for performing an in-bound check sheet before doors are to be opened and if load is warm report to Supervisor or Team lead immediately.
- When trailers are loaded you must roll down doors when finished and if it is a swing door you must make sure it is pulled out and shut.
- As referred to above this position will include some order selecting when deemed necessary by Team Leader.

- High School Diploma
- Experience:
- Some level of forklift experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, step up and down. The employee will need to be able to talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping will be necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to posses the ability to work in a fast pace environment while at the same time staying organized.
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The pay scale disclosed below has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay scale for employees currently in this role is $23.14 per hour. A good faith estimate of the range the company will pay for successful applicants for the current opening is $23.14 per hour.
