Warehouse Supervisor – Naval Station Norfolk

PCSI is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for our team at Naval Station Norfolk’s warehouse! The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, support, and training to warehouse staff. The Warehouse Supervisor also keeps site management informed through discrepancy reports, monthly reports, incident information, and other data. This position is key to correcting any issues identified by the customer and improving warehouse efficiency.

This is a full time position based in the Norfolk, VA area and reports to the site’s Project Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor typically works a day shift, but may need to be available weekends and holidays as needed. This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Benefits Include:

  • Base pay of $55,000-57,000 depending upon experience.
  • Annual bonus of up to 6%.
  • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.

What You’ll Do as Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Supervise staff and warehouse operations spanning three separate shifts, including weekend and night shifts.
  • Provide new and follow on training and support to warehouse employees, to include training in all necessary preservation packing in accordance with P-700.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and site rules.
  • Correct deficiencies identified by government Quality Assurance team / site Quality Control team. Conduct deficiency trend analysis and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory, warehouse procedures and improvement for warehouse efficiency.
  • Provide customer support to government customer as well as all tenant commands in requisition research.
  • Perform causative research on all discrepancies identified by customer and warehouse employees.
  • Attend government facilitated meetings and provide input to Management.
  • Compile discrepancy reports and coordinate with government representative for reporting and disposition.
  • Screen and perform necessary actions as identified in the monthly change notice report and report results to the Project Manager.
  • Report all accidents/incidents to Management.
  • Process data and compile weekly and monthly reports to Management.
  • Complete employee case notes and update the Workforce Development department in a timely manner.
  • Provide support in the area of classified issues and stow using security guidelines.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • High school diploma or GED, college credit preferred.
  • OSHA certified forklift operator.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in warehouse operations and two (2) or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of Navy Supply Operating System (ERP) and Navy Supply Operating System (NALCOMIS) preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and Software.
  • Class A CDL preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to utilize ERP AIT devices.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach push loaded part carts, boxes of parts, etc. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to expertly communicate both orally and/or in written format.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active HAZMAT certification on an annual basis.
  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
