Arcadis is searching for a Wastewater Conveyance Pipeline Engineer with 7 or more years of experience, to join our Resilience Water Team in Little Rock, Arkansas!

Role description:

This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to actively participate in developing and growing our local water practice. The candidate in this role will provide technical expertise and leadership to our team of highly skilled engineers, while leading tasks/projects simultaneously and applying technical knowledge and expertise to develop the team’s overall capabilities. Projects include sewer related construction projects, gravity sewer main rehabilitation construction projects, inflow and infiltration assessment and reduction programs.

Role accountabilities:

  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineering and design/drafting staff.
  • Coordinate and manage execution of projects with other disciplines and office personnel.
  • Develop planning and design projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater/storm water systems for clients.
  • Create cost estimates and project schedules, complete design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Oversee detailed engineering calculations, analysis, and design software to solve complex challenges.
  • Leverage work experience and client relationships to win new projects, in collaboration with Principal-level staff.
  • Prepare and present reports to clients for weekly and monthly progress meetings.
  • Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in design and planning of water/wastewater/recycled water conveyance facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • EIT or PE.

Key Skills/Attributes

  • Project experience including design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and pump/lift stations.
  • Project leadership (Task Manager, Design Lead or Technical Lead) experience on projects of various sizes.
  • Excellent technical engineering skills in the water/wastewater practice area.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates.
  • Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and managing client expectations, developing and leading presentations, with a successful track record of delivering engineering projects to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills. Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Construction administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE License
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil D and GIS platforms
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Construction inspection/management experience.
  • Good working knowledge of collection/distribution system hydraulics and operation.
  • Design experience with large diameter pipelines (18 inches in diameter or larger).
  • Asset management and condition assessment experience.
  • Large wastewater pipe assessment experience.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations. NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP Certification.
  • Proven project management experience delivering financially and technically successful projects.

The salary range for this position is $82400 – 123600 / year .
