Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we’re seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of WIC Senior Applications Manager with the Office of Information of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Reporting to the Director of Applications within the Office of Information Technology, the selected candidate will oversee the development, maintenance, and monitoring of WIC Systems, including “GA-WIC”, Vendor Management, and other assigned systems.
This individual will also manage associated Service Level Agreements, ensure system efficiency, stability, security, and accessibility for WIC staff, and handle escalation procedures for service requests and issues. The role requires balancing strategic planning and hands-on execution, along with coordinating cross-functional activities to maintain system operations, adhere to regulations, and ensure the WIC program’s technological effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the WIC IT program, including the management of GA-WIC, Vendor Management, and other assigned systems.
- Responsible for all supervisory activity of staff (e.g., hiring, on-boarding, setting performance and development objectives, evaluating performance, corrective action planning, recognizing, performance, reviewing leave requests).
- Builds relationships with various stakeholders (e.g., USDA, DPH IT, local Districts, IT system contractors) and participates in various councils (e.g., DPH Governance Council) to represent the WIC program from an IT perspective.
- Works with DPH IT PMO to track and manage project issues, creating mitigation strategies and ensuring activities are completed on time.
- Provide the WIC Technology team with necessary management and professional development to effectively meet its objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between WIC subject matter experts, Department of Public Health IT, contractors, vendors, and various stakeholders to develop clear and accurate business requirements, ensuring optimal integration with DPH systems.
- Coordinate with WIC finance and DPH IT to manage the WIC program technology spend as it relates to system development, staffing, and contractor support.
- Monitor and maintain all Service Level Agreements for the WIC systems.
- Analyze the effectiveness of the IT enterprise application teams and make recommendations for improvement in areas such as organizational structure, team structure, quality improvement, staffing levels, and policies and procedures.
- Work with DPH IT PMO to track and manage project issues, creating mitigation strategies, and ensuring activities are completed on time.
- Oversee Release Management, Change Management, Incident Management, and UAT Management.
- Establish and maintain procedures, standards, and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of directly-related supervisory/management experience
OR
Five years of directly-related supervisory/management experience
OR
One year of experience at the lower level Mgr, Information Technology (ITM020) or position equivalent.
