Position Overview

The WIP Control Specialist is a critical team member of the materials department and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the material status in production and everything related to it. Being successful in this role requires a high level of ownership not only for tracking the WIP (work-in-process) materials but also all relevant processes.

To achieve the “Zero Error” goal, the WIP Control Specialist probes and monitors the inventory accuracy by production cell, compares it to the costed BOM, reconciles discrepancies, and develops improvements of processes to prevent future errors.

Responsiblities

    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between ERP, physical product/production cell, and costed BOM
    • Identify and monitor material movement and transactions to/on/from the production floor
    • Schedule cycle counting based on current production cell occupancy and WIP value compared to the costed BOM
    • Identify opportunities to improve reporting and processes associated with WIP control
    • Establish and maintain KPIs related to WIP
    • Prepare and provide training regularly for team members involved in material movements and transactions pertaining to WIP

Qualifications

    • 6+ Years of inventory/material control experience
    • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
    • -4+ Years of combined experience with WMS and/or ERPs
    • Self-starter needing minimal supervision
    • Thriving in a fast-paced environment
    • Must have good organizational and time management skills

Physical Demands & Work Environment

    • Able to be on-site for a minimum of 8 working hours a day; may require longer hours if needed
    • Able to lift a maximum of 60 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
    • Duties require frequent walking between different areas of the facility
    • Must wear steel-toed boots
    • Must wear protective eyewear
    • Other personal protective equipment as applicable
    • May require hearing protection
    • High frequency of computer keyboarding
    • High frequency of viewing a computer monitor
    • Work is performed primarily in a warehouse

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $54,000 and $67,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
