MBCH Children & Family Ministries is seeking a full-time live-in Youth Care Specialist at our Peculiar, MO location near Kansas City, MO. We provide direct care for youth who have experienced trauma due to abuse/neglect. Our Youth Care Specialists provide for our clients’ needs and impart life skills in a safe and structured environment which they help to create by modeling Christian values at all times. Live-in Youth Care Specialists work a 7 days on/7 days off schedule.
Starting Wage: $15.00 per hour.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships
- Provide trauma-informed care
- Provide supervision of clients in residence and during off-campus outings
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications Required to Perform this Position
- Assurance of a Christ-centered life
- High school diploma; college degree in Social Services (or related) preferred
- Be 21 years of age at minimum
- Demonstrate capacity to perform well in stressful situations
- Valid Class E Driver License Required
- Successful completion of any initial and recurrent training required
- Note: The live-in Residential Specialist schedule (7 days on / 7 days off) can work well for those who do not live in the immediate area since the commute would be only once per week.

• Employee begins retirement program. On a monthly basis, the agency will put the equivalent of 10% of the employee’s monthly salary into the retirement account. (The 10% is not taken out of the salary.) Fully vested after five years of 20% per year schedule. - Other benefits:
• Vacation time, sick time, and holidays are built-in to the regular days off every other week. After 5 years of employment, the employee earns 7 vacation days annually. After 10 years of employment, 14 days are earned annually.
