This position comes with a sign-on bonus of $1,000!
This position ensures care for the emotional, physical and spiritual well being of clients entrusted to the care of MBCH Children and Family Ministries.
Typically working in teams of two (exceptions-night staff, TLP), Residential Specialists provide for clients’ needs, encouraging them, and imparting coping and life skills all from a trauma-informed perspective.
Our Residential Specialists work alternating weeks (7 days on / 7 days off) in a structured environment which they help to create by modeling Christian values.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Client Supervision
- Communication & Collaboration with team members and others
- Ensure client health & welfare needs are provided for & addressed: manage medical appointments, medications, health concerns, dietary/nutrition
- Ensure client educational & life skills needs are provided for & addressed: helping and guiding with school, job, spending and budgeting money
- Ensure client spiritual needs are provided for & addressed: lead daily devotions, prayer, attend chapel services, etc.
- Administration functions: Documentation, reports, logs, meetings, etc.
Note: The live-in Residential Specialist schedule (7 days on / 7 days off) can work well for those who do not live in the immediate area since the commute would be only once per week.

Insurance coverage in the following areas begins on the first day of employment:

After the six-month assessment period the following benefits begin:
• Employee is eligible for a ½ step merit raise (based on 6-month evaluation/performance appraisal)
• Employee begins accruing sick time (24 hours per year).
• Employee begins retirement program. On a monthly basis, the agency will put the equivalent of 10% of the employee’s monthly salary into the retirement account. (The 10% is not taken out of the salary.) Fully vested after five years of 20% per year schedule.
Other benefits:
• Vacation time, sick time, and holidays are built-in to the regular days off every other week. After 5 years of employment, the employee earns 7 vacation days annually. After 10 years of employment, 14 days are earned annually.
• MCCA Certifications: at six, twelve and eighteen-month intervals, 3 levels of certification (Basic, Senior, Master) can be earned by meeting specific training and work experience requirements. A pay increase of $320/semi-annually can be earned for each level obtained.

Qualifications
What we need?
Candidates usually have a Bachelors’ degree in related fields such as youth ministry, psychology, social work and two years of demonstrable experience working with youth.
High school diploma, 21 years of age, a desire to serve Christ through faith and work on a team is required.
