Overview
Integrity Initiatives International (III, pronounced “triple I”) (integrityinitiatives.org) is an international NGO focused on combating grand corruption by strengthening the enforcement of criminal laws against corrupt leaders, also known as kleptocrats. III’s primary initiative is catalyzing and coordinating a campaign to establish an International Anti-Corruption Court (IACC). The Youth Leaders Network Coordinator will play a key role in III’s related youth programming.
Support for an IACC has grown significantly since June 2021 when III first released a Declaration in support of the creation of the Court that was signed by over 120 world leaders from 45 countries. Momentum is growing. The Declaration now has signatures from more than 300 world leaders from 80 countries, including 45 former presidents and prime ministers and 32 Nobel laureates. Working with international partners to create an IACC has since been made official foreign policy for both Canada and the Netherlands, and the past two successive administrations in Colombia endorsed the Court. In the past year, it has also been endorsed by the European Parliament, Moldova, Nigeria, and Ecuador. III also works with a growing civil society coalition to engage other governments in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
Many young activists around the world are interested in participating in the IACC campaign. III’s Youth Leaders Network (YLN) provides a means for them to do so. The YLN also provides a platform for peer-peer learning and support as its members faces the risks and challenges of doing the often lonely and dangerous work of combating corruption in countries such as Venezuela, Lebanon, Russia, and Uganda. The YLN is also a laboratory for developing joint projects with its members.
Integrity Initiatives International is a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE (tsne.org).
