ZEV Leader

We are seeking a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Leader to join our East Geography (Chicago, Boston, New York City, Edison, NJ, or Washington, DC). Someone who will be keenly aware of the changing transportation system and the emergence of new ZEV mobility technologies and regulations, with a focus on fleet transitions, fleet operations, and hydrogen and battery electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with the operational challenges of managing a fleet, and will have experience leading at least one fleet through the planning and procurement of decarbonized vehicles and charging/fueling infrastructure.

The successful individual will join an integrated service team of ZEV focused practitioners that cross disciplines in a comprehensive service offering inclusive of transportation planners, energy consultants, and electrical engineers. The team specializes in decarbonization of mobility in two overlapping market segments: Fleet Transition (transit and non-transit) and Urban Equitable Charging and provides support to our clients from initial planning through to full design and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

Work in an integrated team environment to

  • Win projects that include ZEV technology integration, charging (electric and hydrogen) infrastructure planning and implementation, and strategic policy and programmatic engagement.
  • Bring their experience with fleet operations and decarbonization to build strong client and partner relationships that advance Arup’s position at the forefront of the ZEV transition and decarbonization of mobility more broadly.
  • Lead the delivery of quality project outcomes by contributing technical expertise to standard methodology systems thinking on a breadth of projects, from large to small, in support of the Arup Strategy and Global Step Change.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Business Organization, or the Sciences.
  • Professional certifications relevant to the role, such as professional engineering or planning licensure.
  • 12 years working knowledge of fleet operations and 5 years working knowledge of ZEV transitions.
  • Experience with bus and transit operations is preferred.
  • Experience with ZEVs, fleet operations and the impact decarbonization has on them, and charging/fueling infrastructure.
  • Experience with business development activities and relationship management.
  • Professional certification AICP, PE, PMP, CEM, LArch or similar is preferred.

NYC hiring range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York City is $160,000 to $200,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of NYC will differ.
